Shopupdate | Shop Maintenance

Wir starten morgen Mittag, im Shop AnjaRiegerDesign.com eine neue Softwareversion zu installieren. Daher ist der Shop von morgen Mittag bis Sonntag nicht erreichbar.
Es können also nicht bestellt und auch nichts heruntergeladen werden.

 

Außerdem wird der Shop noch in diesem Herbst ein neues Layout bekommen, von dem wir hoffen, das Ihr das auch so toll findet wie wir!

Starting tomorrow we’ll be making some highly requested maintenance work on our shop AnjaRiegerDesign.com
As a result, our shop will not be available from Saturday 11 am up to Sunday early evening.
 
We’re going to install a brand new version of our software and later this fall we will refresh the whole design of our shop, that we hope you will love.

We think the end result will be much better than what's available today!
The shop will be inaccessible for a short period of time.

So sehr ich rosa und pink auch mag, so wenig mag ich es an mir.

Eine Ausnahme macht dieser bestickte Loop-Schal.

Planschrank | Plan Chest

 Nach gefühlten Jahrzehnten habe ich ihn mal wieder ausgemistet, Inhalte neu sortiert, beschriftet und numeriert. Die Nummern haben am meisten Spaß gemacht, weil ich dafür die neuen Zauberstifte ausprobieren konnte.

Ein gutes Gefühl, wenn wenigstens an einem Fleckchen für einen Moment Ordnung herrscht!

After many years I tidied up, sorted the papers and foils, labeled and numbered the drawers. The numbers made most pleasure because I could draw them with my new felts that change the color when writing with the white marker on it. 

What a good feeling to know one small place where there is order for a moment!

Stempelfisch / Stamped Fish

 Und so ist der Fisch von letztem Freitag entstanden:

Für diesen Stempel habe ich ein Stück Formy abgeschnitten und einen Fisch geschnitzt.

Details zum verwendeten Material habe ich vor einiger Zeit hier und hier beschrieben.

And so I made the fish of last Friday:

To create this stamp I cut a piece of the Formy and thereof a fish.

Die Fischseite wird über dem Toaster erwärmt ...

The side with the fish gets heated over the toaster ...

... und dann zügig auf ein Relief wie hier das Lochblech gedrückt. Und zwar so, dass der Fischkopf über das Blech hinausragt, damit er nicht geprägt wird. 

... and then quickly pressed on a perforated plate. The head of the fish must look over the end of the plate so it gets not embossed.

Solange das Formy noch weich ist, schnell eine Stiftkappe o.ä. für das Auge eindrücken.

As long as the Formy still is soft, press a pen cap ore something similiar on it to get the eye.

 Fertig zum Stempeln!

Zum Stempeln mit Formy eignet sich besonders Stempelfarbe, die auch noch feine Details abbilden kann. Ich habe Archival ink genommen. Bürostempelkissen tun es mit Sicherheit auch.

Das Gute an Formy ist, dass man das Oberflächenrelief immer wieder löschen kann,  indem man den Stempel über dem Toaster erhitzt. So kann man in Ruhe ausprobieren, welche Gegenstände sich zum prägen besonders eignen. Unten ist z.B. ein Versuch mit Fliegenklatsche zu sehen.

Ready to stamp!

You can delete the relief by heating again. So you can create new pattern again and again.

I used a fly swatter for example.

Viele viele gute Gespräche mit Lektoren und Illustratoren, Ideen, Projekte, Pläne, Schlafmangel und Reizüberflutung – es war eine schöne Zeit! Erschöpft und zufrieden genieße ich die ländliche Berliner Ruhe.

Many good conversations with lectors and illustrators, ideas, projects, too little sleep and a sensory overload – it was a great time! Exhausted and satisfied I am happy to be back in the peaceful rural Berlin.

Sprayfisch / Sprayed Fish

Und so ist der Fisch von letztem Freitag entstanden:

And that's how I made the fish of last Friday:

Ich habe Lochbleche auf den Stoff gelegt und mit rotem und schwarzem Textilspray besprüht.

I laid perforated plates on the fabric and sprayed with red and black textile spray.

Dann habe ich ein Stück Transparentpapier auf den gemusterten Stoff gelegt und einen Fisch aufgemalt – so konnte ich genauer bestimmen, welche Musterteile wo im Fisch zu sehen sein würden.

Nicht wundern, wenn der Entwurfsfisch etwas anders aussieht, als am Ende. Ich halte mich selten sklavisch an meine Entwürfe.

Then I laid a piece of transparent paper on the patterned fabric and drew a fish on it – in this way I could determinate which part of the pattern whould be which part of the fish.

Don't be surprised the sketched fish looks a bit different than the final fish. I feel always free to modify the draft while crafting.

Die Kontur habe ich mit Kopierpapier auf einen anderen Stoff übertragen

und ihn an der Kontur entlang ausgeschnitten.

I copied the contour with a tracing paper on another fabric. Then I cut out the fish.

Den Stoff mit dem Fischloch habe ich auf den gemusterten Stoff gelegt und die beiden Stoffe vor dem Nähen aufeinander fixiert, damit nichts verrutscht. Das geht mit Nadeln, Stylefix oder Sprühzeitkleber.

I laid the fabric with the fish shaped whole on the patterned fabric and fixed it before sewing. That works fine with needles, Stylefix or a temporary glue for fabric.

Dann habe ich mit der Nähmaschine die Konturen und die Flossen frei "aufgemalt". Dazu habe ich 30er Maschinenstickgarn aus Baumwolle genommen, damit die Linien schön kräftig werden.

Für das Auge habe ich einen Knopf aufgenäht. 

Fertig!

Then I "painted" the contours and fins with my old sewing machine and a special machine embroidery thread of cotton to get thicker lines.

The button is fine for the eye.

Done!
