Bei mir gibts heute Fisch – Silberfisch aus dem frisch geleerten Schaumkuss-Karton.

In der Technik lassen sich sicher auch prima Sterne basteln, später im Jahr.

 

Die Industry Painter von Edding sind genial. Sie malen butterweich wie Lippenstift, trocknen aber lackartig fest auf und sind dann wisch- und wasserfest. Nur für kleine Kinder sind sie wegen der Lösemittel weniger geeignet.

Today I got fish – silverfish made of the carton of the fresh emptied marshmallow pack.

That would be a nice technique to craft stars, later in the year. 

 

The Industry Painter are genious. They write very smooth like lipstick and dry up very hard and water-resistant. Not suitable for young children because of the solvents.

Stickillustration / Embroidered Illustration

 Heute morgen um ein Uhr war meine Karte endlich fertig. Ich auch ;-)

Dies ist mein Beitrag zum Map-Contest von They draw and travel.

Digitalisiert, maschinen- und handgestickt, genäht und appliziert und natürlich auch gezeichnet und gedruckt.

So lange schon möchte ich die Möglichkeiten der Maschinenstickerei auch für meine Illustrationen nutzen – endlich endlich habe ich es geschafft. Danke für den schönen Anlass, Nate und Salli!

Last night at 1 a.m. I finally finished the map.

This is my entry for the map contest of They draw and travel.

Digitized, machine- and hand embroidered, sewn and appliqued, drawn and printed.

 

I always wanted to use the possibilities of the machine embroidery for my illustrations too – now finally I did it. Thanks for the cause Nate and Salli!

Sommerschwalben / Summer Swallows

Die neuen Stickdateien sind da.

Manchmal / Sometimes

 ... gestaltet sich der Weg zum Ziel etwas komplizierter als gedacht.

Hier ein Blick auf die Entwicklung der neuen Stickdatei, "backstage" sozusagen:

Die doppelten Linien machen das Gefieder zu mächtig.

The double lines make the feathering look to bold.

 Die dünnen Linien schauen unsauber unter den dicken hervor. Das Auge ist mir zu kindlich comichaft.

The thin lines act untidy. The eye is too childlike or comiclike.

 Die unterschiedlich dicken Linien wirken unsauber, trotzdem irgendwie steril und das Auge schaut böse.

The lines act very untidy, nevertheless somehow to clean and the eye looks angry.

 Das ist es! Leicht und skizzenhaft. Nur das Auge ist noch etwas zu schmal.

That's it! Light and sketchy. Just the eye is a bit too narrow.

Puh! Geschafft!

Phew! Got it!

In einer Marina an der Müritz ist sie mir begegnet. 

Die Schwalbe hat ihr Nest unter dem Bootssteg gebaut und ich habe mich kaum mehr getraut, das Boot zu verlassen ;-)

I met it at a marina at the Müritz lake.

The swallow built her nest under the landing stage. It was hard for me to leave the boat because I did not want to disturb the young family ;-)

Me Made Mittwoch

Das T-Shirt hatte ich im letzten Sommer mit meiner gerade neuen Overlockmaschine genäht. Daher hatte ich mächtig Herzklopfen, ob das alles so klappt ;-)

Wie das Rankenmuster entstand, steht hier.

Den Schnitt hatte ich von einem gekauften Lieblings-T-Shirt abgenommen.

Was die anderen MeMade-Damen heute tragen steht bei Catherine.

I sew this T-Shirt last summer with my new Overlock machine.
