Licht im Tunnel / Light in the Tunnel
... und nicht erst am Ende.
Der Britzer Tunnel ist mein Lieblingstunnel in Berlin, wenn man das so sagen kann. Er ist so weit, so aufgeräumt und so hell, dass es fast Spaß macht durchzufahren.
Dies ist mein Beitrag zur schönen Idee von Luzia Pimpinella: Fang das LICHT ein!

The tunnel of Britz is my favorite tunnel in Berlin. It is so wide, so clear and so bright, it is nearly a pleasure to go through.

Ganz herzlich / Many Thanks
... bedanken möchte ich mich bei allen Probestickerinnen!
Ich bin nicht besonders gut im Finden der richtigen Wörter, darum sag ich einfach wie dankbar ich für den Einsatz ungezählter Stunden an Stick- und Nähmaschine bin und wie sehr ich mich jedes Mal über die witzigen Ideen und liebevollen Ergebnisse freue! DANKE!
Die große Resonanz auf die Stickserie Sommervögel hat mich übrigens ziemlich überwältigt. Ich weiß gar nicht, was ich dazu sagen soll ...

Eine ... äh ... technische Sache muss ich noch loswerden.
Es steht zwar auch in den Datenblättern, die es zu den Stickdateien gibt, aber Gebrauchsanweisungen sind ja nicht jedermanns Lieblingslektüre ;-)
ALSO: Bei allen Stickmotiven mit Sonne (bis auf den Applibutton und die "Vögel mit Sonne" für den kleinen Rahmen) habe ich als "letzte Stickung" ein schlichtes und nicht besonders dekoratives Viereck vorgesehen. Dies soll als kleine Positionierhilfe dienen, wenn dort später mittig eine Öse, ein Druckknopf oder ein Zierknopf hinkommen soll.
Wenn man das nicht braucht/möchte, weil die Stickerei pur auch ganz schön ist, dann BITTE DEN LETZTEN STICKGANG (=letzte Farbe) WEGLASSEN. Kann natürlich jeder machen wie er möchte, ich will nur keine Klagen hören ;-)

It's written on the threadlist sheets which come with the embroidery files, but not everyone loves to read these instructions ;-)
On all motifs that include the sun (except the Button appliqué and the "Birdies with Sun" for the small hoop) I added at last a small square not very decorative. This is to help you find the centre in case you intend to add a eyelet, a snap or a button to embellish.
In case you don't want to add on something else PLEASE DROP THE LAST STITCHING (=last color). Of course you can do what you want but I don't want to hear any complaints ;-)

Jeden Tag / Every Day
... gibt es neue Blumen zu bestaunen, neue Melodien zu hören und selbst an totgeglaubten Strünken treibt zartes Grün. Hach, ich liebe diese Zeit der frischen Farben und täglichen Überraschungen!
Mit der neuen Stickserie Sommervögel habe ich versucht, dieses Gefühl einzufangen und auf Stoff zu bringen.
Die Sommervögel gibt es als Stickdateien und als Handstickvorlage ab Donnerstag bei AnjaRiegerDesign.com.

Wochenende / Weekend
Die Vögel schreien alle durcheinander, in der Luft hängt der Duft von Gegrilltem, es ist zum Schwitzen heiß. So könnte es von mir aus weitergehen. Aber heute Nacht soll der Regen nun endlich auch Berlin erreichen.
Na gut. Das macht es vielleicht leichter, sich am Montag wieder an den Schreibtisch zu setzen.
The birds are shouting on top of each other, the smell of barbecue fills the air, it is hot. I wish it would last. But tonight the rain will reach Berlin.
Well. Maybe this will make easier to sit at my desk again on Monday.

Mensch und Technik / People and Technology
Ein blödes Gefühl war das heute morgen.
Ich war gerade mit der kleinen Cessna vom Abstellplatz zur Startbahn gehoppelt. "Rollen" kann man das bei dem holprigen Rasen kaum mehr nennen. Fünf Mal rief ich den Turm über Funk und bekam keine Antwort. War das Funkgerät defekt? War mein Kopfhörer nicht in Ordnung? War der nette Mann vom Turm gerade auf dem Klo? Sollte ich jetzt etwa den ganzen Weg zurück hoppeln??
Ha! Ich hatte doch das Handy! Und siehe da: Über das Telefon konnte ich den Turm erreichen und bei laufendem Triebwerk gerade noch so eben verstehen. Es reichte jedenfalls aus, um zu klären, dass dort zufällig gerade niemand in der Nähe des Funkgeräts war. Die Technik ist in Ordnung. Puh!
Wir setzten das Gespräch dann über Funk fort ;-)
This was a stupid feeling this morning.
I just hopped with the small Cessna from the apron to the runway. I cannot call it "taxi" because of the bumpy lawn. Five times I called the tower by radio and got no answer.
Was the radio defect? Or my headset? Was the nice man of the tower just on the toilet? Shoud I hop back all the long way??
Wait! I had a cell! Finaly I reached the tower by phone. It was a bit hard to understand while the engine was running.
He explained that nobody was near the radio for a while so I got no answer before. Phew!
We continued our conversation by radio ;-)
