Neues Buch / Out Now

Der neueste Band der Reihe "Die unschlagbaren 3" ist jetzt erschienen.

Es hat wieder richtig Spaß gemacht, den Text von Thomas Fuchs zu illustrieren. Das mittlerweile fünfte Abenteuer handelt von einem russischen Flugzeugträger, Geheimplänen und Piratenschätzen. Besonders freue ich mich natürlich immer über jedes Flugzeug, das vorkommt. Diesmal fiel mir zudem das unvorhersehbare Ende der Geschichte erfreulich auf. Mehr davon!

Since a few days the new book of "Die unschlagbaren 3" is available.

It was a pleasant job to illustrate the story of Thomas Fuchs. It is the 5th of a book series and deals with a russian carrier, a secret map and a real pirate treasure.

Especially the unexpected end of the story amazed me. More of this!

Winterkleid / Winterdress

 Berauscht von der letzten Nähaktion habe ich endlich den Schnitt zu meinem Wunschkleid ausgetüftelt. Ich finde so etwas immer ziemlich mühselig, aber wenn einfach kein (mir) passender Schnitt zu finden ist ... 

Mit der Maßpuppe ist das auf jeden Fall wesentlich einfacher als vorher. Ich habe sie noch im letzten Jahr nach dieser Anleitung und mit tatkräftiger Hilfe meines Liebsten gebastelt. Und die kaputte Stehlampe aus der Garage hat nebenbei eine praktische Verwendung gefunden.

Voilà: Das Kleid ist aus kirschrotem Viskose-Romanit-Jersey von hier. Es kommt ohne Verschluss aus und ist fast komplett mit der Overlock genäht. Superschnell und sehr bequem. 

Ich schätze, für den Sommer wird es noch eine Variante mit weiterem Ausschnitt und kürzeren Ärmeln geben.

Motivated by the last sewing project finally I worked out the pattern of my dream dress. This kind of laborious work is not my favorite, but I hadn't found such a pattern ...

It is much more easier with the dressform. I made it last year with the help of my darling. You can find the tutorial here. And the broken floor lamp of the garage found a new application by the way.

Voilà: The dress is made of a cherry red heavy doubleknit I found here. It has no closure and is sewn mostly with the overlock machine. Sewn very quickly and very comfortable to wear. 

Guess I'll sew another summerly version with a wider neck and shorter sleeves.

Edit: Sorry, Mr. Linky war gerade unpässlich und verschwunden. Nee, Quatsch. Ich Schussel hatte als Schlusszeit "am" statt "pm" angeklickt. Jetzt ist er wieder da.

Endlich mal wieder genäht / Finally sewn again

Als ich Catherines Kleid sah, war ich sofort hin und weg. Das machte mir richtig Lust aufs Nähen. Ungeduldigst habe ich auf den Schnitt aus den USA gewartet. Mit dem Zoll gab es zum Glück keine Probleme. 

Es ist das Crepe von Colette patterns. Danke Catherine für den Tipp mit dem gedoppelten Oberteil! Das hat mir eine Menge Fummelei erspart. Der Schnitt gefällt mir sehr gut. 

Ob ich mich mit diesem Stoff anfreunden werde – ein sehr knitterfreudiges Wolle-Seidengemisch –, da bin ich mir nicht ganz so sicher.

Ich werde es sicher nochmal aus einem anderem Stoff nähen.

When I saw the wonderfull dress of Catherine I was swept off my feet. That made me hungry for sewing.

It is the Crepe of Colette patterns. Thanks to Catherine for the suggestion to double the bodice as facing! That reduces the fiddling. I really like this pattern.

But I am not sure if I will get used to the fabric. It is a crease friendly blend of silk and wool.

Next time I'll sew it of another fabric.

Vorbei / Past

Ein letzter Blick auf die Weihnachtskarten, bevor ich sie wegräume. 

Schade, ich hatte mich gerade an diesen Wandschmuck gewöhnt.
