Ich werde mir jetzt erstmal einen schönen Kaffee kochen und dann weiter an den drölftausend Miniaturen für meine aktuellen Schulbuchaufträge zeichnen.

Gestern in der Post / I got mail

Das Pixibuch "Wolles tolles Frühstück" von Manuela Mechtel, das ich vor Jahren illustriert habe, gibt es jetzt auch in China. Hach, da wär ich auch gern mal. Ich freue mich mit Wolle wie Bolle.

Der kommt viel rum in der Welt. Im Januar war Wolle schon in Syrien.

The Pixi book "Wolles tolles Frühstück" (Wolle's great breakfast) written by Manuela Mechtel I illustrated some years ago is now published in China. I would love to be there too. I am excited.

Wolle really gets around a lot. In January he was already in Syria.

Bei mir gibts heute Fisch – aus Apfel geschnitzt. Das geht übrigens viel schöner und leichter als aus Gurke.

Und bei Euch?

Today I got fish – carved from apple. That is pretty much easier than from cucumber.

*In-the-hoop bedeutet, dass die Motive im Rahmen gestickt und genäht werden. Sie müssen nur noch ausgeschnitten, gewendet, gefüllt und von Hand zugenäht werden. Hier steht, wie es geht.

*In-the-hoop means: the designs were embroidered and also stitched in the hoop. They just need to be cut, turn the right side out, stuff and close the opening. Here is a short tutorial.

Lichtblicke / Sparkling

Gestern kam der Weihnachtsmann Postbote und drückte mir ein Überraschungspaket in die Hände. Gefüllt mit vielen vielen güldenen, silbernen, flitternden und bunten Garnen. 

Plötzlich habe ich  die geheimnisvollen Andeutungen im Kommentar von Freitag verstanden. Jaja ich bin in sowas nicht die Hellste und nicht die Schnellste.

Yesterday I got a surprising parcel from the Santa postman.

Filled with many many golden, silver, sparkling and colorful threads.

Suddenly I understood the sense of the mysterious comment of last friday.

Bei mir gibts heute Fisch – gedruckt. Die Farbradierung mit Buchdruck (Vernis mou und Bleisatz) habe ich nach einer Supermarkt-Werbebeilage gemacht. Sie ist schon etwas älter.

From the Herb Garden

Salbei in Butter gebraten zu Spaghetti mit Käse und Tomatenstückchen. Köstlich!

Diesmal habe ich den Salbei in der Pfanne nicht aus den Augen gelassen, denn von knusprig zu verbrannt ist es nur ein kleiner Schritt ;-)

Fried sage on spaghetti with grated chease and tomato pieces. Delicious!

This time I kept my eyes on the pan, because there is only a little step from crispy to burned ;-)
