Tooor / Goal

Vor einigen Wochen fragte Sonja, ob wir mal was mit Fußball machen sollten. 

FUSSBALL? ICH?? 

Naja, und dann tickerte es in meinem Kopf los. 

Gibt es schon irgendwelche Stickdateien zu dem Thema, die mir gefallen (würden, wenn ich Fußballfan wäre)? 

Spontan fiel mir keine ein. 

Und dann fand ich ziemlich doof, dass die Jungs mal wieder nicht die Auswahl haben wie die Mädels. (Sorry an alle fußballbegeisterten Mädels, ich gehe einfach mal davon aus, dass Jungs bei diesem Thema in der Mehrzahl sind).

Kurz und gut, ab Donnerstag heißt es im Shop: Tooor!

A few weeks ago Sonja asked me if we should offer some embroidery designs with soccer motifs.

SOCCER? ME??

And then something in my head began to work.

Are there already embroidery files with this theme which I would like (if I was a soccer fan)?

I had no idea spontaneously.

I think it's a pitty that the boys don't have such a wide range like girls. (Sorry soccer lover girls! I assume that mostly boys are interested in soccer.)

Prägefisch / Embossed Fish

Mit dieser einfachen Methode kann man sich leicht einen eigenen Prägestempel basteln und damit Briefpapier, Scrapbooks, Einladungskarten* und vieles mehr dekorieren.

Zum besseren Verständnis bitte zuerst das lesen.

With this simple method you can easily create your own embossing stamp to decorate writing paper, scrapbooks, invitation cards* and much more.

Please read first here for a better understanding.

Fisch auf Papier vorzeichnen und Blatt mit lösbarem Haftkleber auf dem Karton fixieren.

Einfacher wäre es übrigens, direkt auf den Karton zu zeichnen.

Draw the fish on a piece of paper and stick it with a non-permanent glue on a cardboard.

By the way it would be much more easy to draw directly onto the cardboard.

Formen ausschneiden. Mit den inneren Teilen beginnen

Cut the forms. Begin with the inner pieces

Karton falten

Fold the cardboard

Fischunterseite mit Klebstoff betun

spread some glue on the backside of the fish

durch die geschlossene Karte einkleben

place the fish in the hole of the folded card

Klebstoff um das Fischloch herum auftragen und Transparentpapier aufkleben

Normales Papier geht auch, gibt nur etwas weniger Durchblick.

Normal paper would be fine too – the other way would bea bit easier to handle

innere Teile in den aufgeklebten Fisch einlegen und vorsichtig mit Klebstoff bestreichen, ohne dass der restliche Fisch Kleber abbekommt

insert the inner elements in the sticked fish and spread some glue ONLY on these inner pieces

take care not to stick the fish

Karte schließen, die inneren Elemente am Transparentpapier festkleben, vorsichtig öffnen und trocknen lassen

Close the card an stick the inner elements on the tracing paper, open carefully and let the glue dry

Papier einlegen, mit dem Falzbein oder Löffel oder Pinselstiel darüberstreichen

Insert a paper and rub with a bone folder or a spoon or a brush handle

Fertig ist der Prägefisch!

Finished!

*mit diesem Prägestempel lässt sich nur Papier prägen

Möchte man einen Karton für eine Karte oder einen Anhänger mit einer Prägung versehen, dann erst ein Papier prägen, das größer als der Karton ist und das dann (am besten mit Sprühkleber) auf den Karton aufkleben

If you want to embellish a cardborad for cards or tags, emboss a paper that is larger than the cardboard and stick it with adhesive spray on the card

Prägestern / Embossed Star

Als ich die Fischprägung beschreiben wollte, merkte ich erst, dass sie möglicherweise sehr verwirrend wirkt. 

Daher zeige ich hier zunächst eine einfachere Prägeform, damit das Grundprinzip klar ist, bevor die (etwas) aufwändigere Fischform dran ist.

When I began to describe how the embossing of the fish works, I suddenly realized that it may be a bit confusing.

So first I'll show here a simpler version to illustrate the basic principle, before the (a bit) more complexe fish will follow.

 Ein Stück Karton ausschneiden – Lebensmittelkartons haben meist die passende Stärke

Cut a piece of cardboard – food packages mostly are perfect

Stern aufzeichnen

 draw the star

mit dem Cutter ausschneiden

cut it

Karton einmal knicken (muss nicht exakt sein)

fold the cardboard (doesn‘t need to be exact)

Sternrückseite mit Klebstoff bestreichen

spread some glue on the backside of the star

Stern wieder einfügen

insert the star

und Klebstoff trocknen lassen

and let dry the glue

Papier einlegen, Karte zuklappen und mit einem Falzbein oder Pinselstiel oder Löffel darüberreiben

insert a sheet of paper, close the card and rub with a bone folder or a brush handle or a spoon

Fertig ist die Prägung!

Done!

Design process

Probestickung die Erste.

Es ist immer wieder spannend, die Stickmotive nur grob zu skizzieren und erst beim Digitalisieren (also der Umsetzung in eine Stickdatei) fertig zu entwickeln.

New embroidery design – first trial.

It is always exciting to sketch the pattern roughly and to develop the final artwork when digitizing (the conversation into a machine embroidery file).

Bei mir gibt es heute Fisch – auf Stoff frottiert.

Die Stoffmalkreiden von Jaxon habe ich schon seit Urzeiten. Ich weiß nicht, ob es die noch gibt. Aber andere z.B. hier.

Today I got fish – rubbed on fabric.

The chalks for the painting on cloth I have are very old. I don't know if these still are available. But there are others f.e. here.

Ich war überrascht, dass das sogar mit dem geschnitzten Gummistempel funktioniert.

Man muss den Stoff nur fest über den Stempel spannen, damit er nicht verrutscht. 

Mit der anderen Hand (die ich für den Auslöser brauchte) habe ich die breite Seite der Stoffmalkreide darüber gestrichen.

I was surprised that it works with a carved rubber stamp.

You just need to hold tight the fabric over the stamp to secure against slipping.

Take the chalk with the other hand (I needed for the release button) and make a rubbing over the stamp.

Nach dem Bügeln (oberer Fisch) nach Anleitung ist die Farbe waschecht.

After ironing (upper fish) according to the instructions on the chalks the paint will be colorfast.

Siebdruck (2) / Screen Printing (2)

Die Schrubberei ist nicht ohne Spuren geblieben. 

Also nochmal mit dem Siebfüller ungewollt offene Stellen verschließen.
Die Stellen, die sich umgekehrt beim Auswaschen nicht öffneten (... SIEBDRUCKER hier bitte nicht weiterlesen ...) habe  ich brachial mit einer Stecknadel geöffnet. Dies ist mit Sicherheit nicht nachahmenswert, funktionierte aber. Wenn auch etwas mühselig ;-)

The parts of the pattern who didn't get opened (... SCREEN PRINTER please do not continue reading here ...) I opened in a brute manner with a needle. That is not worth following, but it worked. Laboriously;-)

Wenn alles getrocknet ist, dann an allen vier Seiten mit Paketklebeband die Fugen abkleben. Das ist auf dem Foto nicht so gut zu sehen, da ich durchsichtiges Klebeband benutze. Auch auf der Rückseite die Ränder mit Klebeband versehen, damit die Farbe nicht in alle Ritzen kriecht, und das Sieb einfacher zu reinigen ist.

Zur Ablage zwischen den Druckvorgängen habe ich vier Plastikschälchen umgedreht, auf denen die Ecken des Siebs aufliegen können (ein super Tipp aus dem empfehlenswerten Buch von Lena Corwin).

Da beim Druck alles zügig gehen muss, habe ich leider keine Fotos gemacht.

When the screen is dry, tape all sides to prevent ink from getting between the mesh and the frame. Tape the four sides on the back too. You can't see it well on the picture, because I use clear tape.

Unfortunately I don't have taken any fotos of the printing process because the ink dries quickly and I have to hurry.

I higly recommend the book of Lena Corwin, when you are interested in the details.
